Not a real post

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted.

I've been feeling kind of blah lately without much motivation. My routines have held up more or less. Well, I haven't been doing everything on the "correct" day, but they're getting done. More or less. Some days less. A lot less. Like today. A very rainy, chilly fall day. Fragments fun. ;-)

Anyway, the baby is making lots of good progress. I guess I'm starting to feel a little trapped in the house. I do NOT want to go back to work really, but I keep thinking it might be a nice change. At least I could guarantee to be showered and dressed at a reasonable hour and out of the house. Sigh.

Any suggestions for the little baby (slightly bored) blues?

I don't find the baby boring (he's great!), I just find my routine trying these days and the cabin fever kicking in. The weather is just going to get colder and wetter. What to do?

  1. Maybe being with women your age that have similarly aged children would help. It is wonderful to have that support group.

Who do you know that has a child your son's age? If you don't know any new mothers, ask around...check at church. Look on line to see if there's a MOPS group that meets in your area. Ask your friends with older children if they ever belonged to a playgroup and get the contact information to see if it's still in existance. If you work out at a gym, you might be able to hook up with a playgroup there by asking around. Does your mall have a soft play area? Go sit there one morning when the mall opens and you're guaranteed to meet other moms.

I know being a new mom can make you feel really isolated. I was blessed to be pregnant at the same time, twice, with women I was friends with. Hang in there though. Adult companionship during the day can be just the thing to help those baby blues...gives you, and baby, when he's a bit older, something to look forward to :0)
