It's a big day!

Someone is three today!

(I swear, I see that exact expression on M's face today. Am I right?)

And...that means someone else is eleven months today-- and has his first molar!

The age old cry of mothers everywhere: WHERE DID MY BABIES GO??

Creating with Clay

A few months ago I bought some Magic Mud (natural clay) at the craft store. We worked with it once, but never went back to it. Last week, M. asked if he could play with it during our art time.

He spent over an hour creating with it! He even refused lunch!

He made various trucks and trains, and when he was finally done asked if we could leave them out. They dried pretty well!

This is just a mere fraction of the mess left behind, but it was so worth it!

The Nina

Last week, my parents, sister, and I (and the kids!) went to visit reproductions of Columbus ships The Nina and the Pinta. The Nina is the most accurate reproduction of a Columbus ship, and boy could we feel it! We all had a great time with our brush with history.

I was switching our festivity stand/nature table over from Easter (spring) to summer yesterday and realized I never posted pictures of the Lent to Easter transformation. You can see what it looked like during Lent here.

Easter morning, it looked like this:

He is Risen and the vines have come to life!

Our chicken family hiding amongst the greenery:

And a rabbit or two:

Sadly, I didn't take any picture of our other Easter decorations, but I will next year!

Firefly Lantern

I bought this firefly lantern for the boys for our outdoor adventures this summer. When it arrived last week, we tried to out to observe a tent caterpillar. We're planning to stay up late soon (well, late for us- the boys go to bed by seven) to try to catch (then release) some firelfies. I don't think M. has ever seen one!

Iris Love

My irises are having a bumper year! They have never been this showy!

Four Years Ago...

Monday, June 1, 2009

It is June...

...and I am wearing wool socks.

That's all I'm going to say about that.
