Wisdom...

"Motherhood is about raising and celebrating the child you have, not the child you thought you would have. It's about understanding that he is exactly the person he is supposed to be. And that, if you're lucky, he just might be the teacher that turns you into the person you are supposed to be." -- Joan Ryan

Play at Home Mom is one of my new finds. Much inspiration to be found!

I love the farm scene set up on the piano. It just breathes peace to me.

The view from the Ergo. Happy baby every time...especially after a long walk.

Big Brother was a little overexcited while painting, and swiped Little Brother's nose.

Trying to get back in the swing

This poor blog has been fearfully neglected for the past seven (!!) months, and I am trying to get going again and share some of what we've been up to!

(The boys watching a frog one day this summer.)

Today is a busy end to another very busy week, so to start I want to share this wonderful blog post. I cannot vouch for the rest of the content of this site, but this article is a must-read for all parents.

You just broke your child. Congratulations.

Satori Smiles: Reading Room

A few months ago, I shared a new favorite blog of mine, Satori Smiles. If you haven't been over there lately, go now and check out their new library reading room! It's wonderful!

We have a display bookcase, but I'd love to put up rain gutter bookshelves for more display space.

Two New Favorite Blogs

Over the past month or so, I've discovered a two great blogs! Both are written by moms homeschooling preschoolers. Each has a wealth of great ideas!

Angela blogs about her adventures with her daughter Satori at satorismiles.com.

Gabriele's Cheeky Monkey Preschool has a theme for each day and she shares the activities she does with her son at http://cheekymonkeypreschool.blogspot.com/.

Happy reading!

The Nice Matters Award

Emma has nominated me for a Nice Matters Award! What an honor, thank you!

“This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. "

Here are a few people I think are deserving of such an honor:

Kat: Kat and I have known each other for eight years now and have recently been experiencing a "friendassance" (as Phoebe says). We have so much in common and she is an inspiration to me. I'm so glad we've been spending time getting caught up. No more falling out of touch!

KitKat: I really admire this lady because of her uncompromising but graceful defense of Catholicism among very difficult people. I am also wildly impressed by her garden, and she has motivated me to really commit next spring and summer to my veggies!

Margaret: I don't know Margaret very well (yet!), but she is a lady in every sense of the word and I love reading her blog. If you haven't, come join her study group on Mulieris Dignitatem.

Perri and Andi: I started reading Perri's blog almost two years ago! I cannot remember how I came across it, but it's a daily read for me now. Her daughter Andi blogs too, and they are two of the funniest and kind gals I've ever "met." Andi's daughter Sophie makes numerous appearances on both their blogs, and that makes their blogs even more fun! Ladies, may I blogroll you? I can't believe I haven't already!

I have too many people to list for this award: Mimi, Mrs. Brigham, White Daisy, Chrissy, Erika you are all nice people and wonderful friends!
